Using CareHQ for accidents or injuries

Had a mild injury? CareHQ can help via our ACC/Injury Management clinic. The GP can create the ACC form, review a current claim for an extension, or assess a return-to-work plan for light alternative duties so you can recover in the workplace.

When telehealth is not suitable

If you have a medical emergency, immediately call 111.
A virtual consult would not be suitable if you have a serious or urgent problem that requires a physical examination. Some examples of this include:

  • Severe chest pain
  • Shortness of breath
  • Sudden allergic reaction
  • Poisoning
  • Severe bleeding
  • Severe burns
  • Suspected broken bones
  • Traumatic head injury
  • Severe headache, pain or loss of co-ordination
  • Sudden numbness, weakness or slurred speech

For ongoing complex health issues or requests for certain medications, you may be asked to see your regular GP. Maintaining a good relationship with your enrolling GP clinic can help you and your whānau to enjoy your best possible health, continuity of care and long-term support.

Virtual consults aren’t suitable for medical procedures, most specialist clinics, or for certificates that require a physical exam, such as for driving or sports.
If you are unsure if CareHQ is right for you, please email care@carehq.co.nz before you book or check our terms and conditions.
